Sweet Gelato Tea Lounge: A Vibrant Bubble Tea Experience in San Jose, CA

One of the best in Bay Area! Quality Boba for sure, and who doesn't love OG Tony! He makes the Boba himself daily, definitely the best tasting Boba I've ever had. It's right near the entrance of Vietnam Town, give this place a chance!

This place is tea shop (tea/coffee/gelato/smoothie/mochie) is so special! This is a true gem you must visit in San Jose! The owner is super nice! He asked id it was our first time in and it was! He personally made our drinks and served our desserts which was super kind! A warm genuine soul who shared some fun stories behind the naming of the drinks and desserts. My som had the cookies and cream gelato and I had the creme brûlée along with a blended coffee drink Honey Plan B which is a blended frappe type with 2 shots of coffee blended with tiramisu! Deliiiiiciiiiooous!!!! OMG!! The seating is really cool too with comfortable big group booth! It located inside the Vietnam Town shopping center! So many cool places here bit definitely this place is a must cannot miss! Thank you!!!!!

Sweet Gelato’s new matcha drinks are visually appealing, creative, and generally well-balanced when made right. The matcha flavor is smooth and earthy, pairing nicely with their cream toppings and chewy boba. However, consistency varies some drinks can be too sweet or watered down, and presentation sometimes differs from photos. Overall, a solid place to try if you enjoy fun, customizable boba drinks with good texture and presentation. If you don’t know what to order Tony will always recommend the perfect drink or make it for you from scratch.

My wife and I were looking for a boba place late night and came across this place. It was a 45min drive from where we were but I said screw it and decided to take the trip there. When we got there we were greeted by Tony the owner. He asked if it was our first time to his establishment and it was so he took us under his wing and made us feel extremely welcomed. He's quite a character and is very proud of his product and it shows. I ordered Plan B which is a tiramisu and coffee blended drink and my wife got Hoe (hang over everyday) which is lychee and melon fruity tea with bursting boba. Both were very flavorful and very high quality. The whole time he was extremely friendly and entertaining. He explained some of the history behind the names of some of his drinks and was exuding his passion in doing so. We also purchase the apple and Oreo cheesecakes, tiramisu, and creme brulee. We will definitely be returning because Sweet Gelato Tea Lounge is WORTH it!

Got the sea salt caramel gelato and instantly loved the texture ,super distinctive and so different from usual ice cream. I also tried the tiramisu and that was great too. The whole shop was being run by one person, and he was super patient, quick, and really focused on what he was doing. Definitely going back to try more flavors.

Tony is just as sweet as his teas. The fruit & boba is extremely fresh! His friendliness, customer service & genuine connection to his clients makes up for the price mark ups. If we were friends, I wouldn’t mind supporting his small business. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a really great experience here. Tony, the owner, is incredibly nice and genuinely funny. You can tell he cares about his shop and the people who come in. I also love the menu because the names are such a fun play on words and it adds to the whole vibe. I saw some reviews saying the pricing wasn’t clear, but that wasn’t my experience at all. I ordered a bubble tea and a gelato, and both matched the prices listed at the top of the menu. I’m not sure what happened for others, but everything was clear when I went. Yes, the drinks are a little higher priced compared to some other places, maybe about a dollar fifty more, but the gelato felt completely on par with what I usually pay. Everything I ordered tasted great. There isn’t much seating, but I love that they are open late. That alone makes it super convenient. And there is plenty of parking, which is always a bonus. I would definitely come back.
